Airborne SAR Flight Planning Based on Xdraw Algorithm
Abstract：Airborne SAR experiment on terrain observation suffers from long processing time,high costs as well as lack of viewshed analysis.In this paper,an Xdraw algorithm based SAR viewshed analysis exploiting geographic information system（GIS） provided by 3D-digital Earth Platform is proposed.Given the terrain data of digital elevation model（DEM）,the result of viewshed analysis can be acquired.Numerical results for different SAR flight height are obtained for verification and evaluation.The result shows that this algorithm can well approximate the real visual information and give a quantitative SAR terrain viewshed analysis.It consequently provides a reliable reference for SAR flight planning.
