Impact of nuclear wastewater discharge in Japan and proposed measures

Abstract：The Fukushima nuclear power plant planed to begin diluting Fukushima nuclear wastewater into the ocean in March 2023.However,experts had questioned the safety of the Fukushima nuclear wastewater discharge.Based on the latest research on the Fukushima nuclear wastewater,including the distribution,harm and migration rule of radionuclides,this paper summarized and analyzed the treat-ment methods of Fukushima nuclear wastewater,the content of dangerous nuclides,the migration path of nuclear wastewater and the impact on the marine ecological environment,and discussed the potential impact of Fukushima nuclear wastewater discharge on the surrounding sea area.It was hoped to provide some suggestions for marine radioactive safety assessment and for coping with the possible effects.
