The Application of Stable Isotopes in Aquaculture Environments

Abstract：Stable isotope method is widely used in fishery ecological systems, more in natural waters and less in aquaculture.Aquaculture industry, as a kind of sustainable fisheries development form, has got more and more attentions, and stable isotope method has got a preliminary application in it.Stable isotope method is used in biological feeding, culture environment and culture system.In biological feeding, we can explore the sources of food for aquatic organisms;in culture environment, we can find the relationship between culture organisms and the outside world;and in culture system, we can learn about the system's food web and nutrition levels.The stable isotopic composition and feeding situation of cultured animals in different culture environments were summarized in this paper, and it has important significance to realize resources' sustainable production in artificial culture.
