Studies on the Pedicellaria Ultrastructure of 4 Species in Family Temnopleuridae

Abstract：Pedicellaria is an important organ of sea urchin.The differences of pedicellaria among the species of sea urchin can be used to species identification,which is significant to biological researches of sea urchin.In this study,the pedicellaria of 4 kinds of sea urchin in family Temnopleuridae was scanned with electron microscopy (SEM).The results showed that the 4 kind of types of pedicellarias were observed,which included which included globiferous,tridentate,triphyllous and ophiocephalous pedicellaria different remarkably each other.Our finding suggested that pedicellaria characteristics can be used in species identification.
