Studies on Protection and Sustainable Utilization of lagoon Resource Around Hainan Island

Abstract：Lagoon resource around Hainan Island is rich and the distribution of its lagoons was wide.Unfortunately,most of the lagoons are degrading at present,and the literatures focusing on this issue are less available.In this paper,we described current scenario of threating and destructing faced by lagoons in Dongzai Port,Dongshui Port,Huachang Bay,Qinglan Port,Xiaohai Sea,Laoye Sea,Boao Lagoon,Saya river,Qingmei Port,Lian Port,Xincun Lagoon,Tielu Port and Xinying Port in terms of geographical distribution,size of areas and type of resources.We tried to make proposals for and suggestions to the protection and sustainable utilization of these lagoons.Our proposal and suggestions included regulation establishment,sustainable development and utilization,strengthening legal supervision and protection consciousness improvement.These proposals and suggestions may come into being by analyzing the influencing factors associating with human activity,terrestrial pollution,ocean engineering and natural evolution.Our trials will provide basic data and a theoretical reference for the protection and sustainable utilization of lagoon resource around Hainan Island.
