Abstract:Wave model SWAN was used to simulate waves during Typhoon Kalmaegi.By comparison with the observation data, the model results are reasonable. The wind is constructed by Jelesnianski-Ⅱ model, which reflects the structure and strength of typhoon clearly. The response of the sea surface temperature to the typhoon is analyzed based on the temperature of observation and the ECMWF dataset. The results show that the cooling range on the typhoon path is asymmetrically distributed, and that the maximum cooling center with the cooling rate nearly 1.5 ℃ appears on the right of the path, under the conditions of the complex topography of the ocean.
