Abstract:The objective of this study was to isolate and identify an efficient nitrite-N degradation strain named NB9 from biofloc-based shrimp culture ponds, optimized its conditions of culture, and evaluated ability to inhibit pathogens and safety to the Litopenaeus vannamei, including survival, growth performance and immunological parameters when added to the water.Combined with physiological and biochemical indexes and 16SrDNA identification, isolated strain NB9 was identified as Photobacterium.Nitrite N degradation effects with strain NB9 was best when temperature at 30 C,salinity at 25,pH at 7.5 and C/N ratio at 25.Strain NB9 presented significant inhibitory features against the pathogen bacteria (p<0.05),safety experimental showed isolated strain NB9 was not harm to the L.vannamei, and could improve the growth performance, feed conversion rate and immune defense level of L.vannamei significantly (p<0.05).Therefore,isolated strain NB9 was alternative strain applied in aquaculture as potential probiotic.
