Abstract:Based on ERA-40 reanalysis dataset, the interdecadal variation of the summer Pacific-Japan (P-J) teleconnection pattern is investigated in different ENSO events years, the correlation between the P-J teleconnection pattern and the tropical central and eastern Pacific SST is discussed by using the phase 5 of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP5) models datas after evaluating CMIP5.Results indicate that ENSO can inflence the location of the summer P-J teleconnection pattern..The major teleconnection centers of P-J shift southwestwards (northeastwards) during the summer following El Ni(n)o (La Ni(n)a).ENSO can influence the strength of the summer P-J teleconnection pattern:the previous winter tropical central and eastern Pacific SST has significant correlation with the summer P-J teleconnection pattern in ENSO years,no correlation in normal years.24 CMIP5 climate models are analyzed in this study, found that most models can simulate P-J teleconnection pattern, globle warming makes little influence to the location of the summer P-J teleconnection pattern, but ENSO has a major impact on it.
