Abstract:This study investigates the impact of microgravity, radiation, and psychological stress during spaceflight on human intestinal health, with a particular focus on how these factors can lead to adverse outcomes by disrupting the mechanisms of intestinal homeostasis. As a crucial barrier between the body and the external environment, the intestine's function,if compromised, may trigger"leaky gut syndrome,"thereby increasing the risk of infections and systemic inflammation. The space environment significantly alters the composition of the intestinal microbiota, and these changes may further affect the host's metabolic processes, immune regulation, and the normal functioning of the nervous system.Additionally, this paper explores traditional Chinese medicine as a potential intervention strategy, which can help mitigate the challenges posed by the space environment on intestinal health by restoring the stability of the intestinal microecology, enhancing the integrity of the intestinal barrier, and modulating immune mechanisms.
