Abstract:Objective To investigate the spatial orientation problems of the augmented reality space flight training. Methods The framework of augmented reality space flight training system was proposed with simultaneous localization and mapping(SLAM). A spatial orientation algorithm was illustrated including image acquisition, feature extraction, feature description, feature matching, camera pose estimation, graph-based optimization and closed-loop detection. Results To determine the measurement accuracy and validity of the algorithm, experiment was implemented in the real space flight training scene, and the experimental results were compared with the high precision total station data. Conclusion This method can provide space flight training guidance information for the astronauts in an autonomy way to reduce the cognitive burden of space flight training.
