Abstract:Objective Targeting the problems in long-term electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring with commercial Ag/AgCl gelled electrodes, and the urgent need in wearable health monitoring in recent years, a collection circuit for two-lead ECG signals based on impedance transformation textile electrodes (ET textile electrode) was designed and a wearable collection equipment for ECG was developed. Methods The concept and the development status of the textile electrodes were introduced, and a ET textile electrode was designed to reduce the contact-impedance in the traditional textile electrodes. In addition, the ECG collection circuit was simplified, and low power consumption and miniaturization were realized. Results The wearable ECG collection equipment could get the complete ECG waveform. To verify the different effects of the different kinds of textile electrodes, a medical diagnostic instrument (named multi-parameter monitor) was used for comparative analysis. Experimental results showed that the ET textile electrode could collect the complete ECG waveform. Conclusion The collection of ECG signals based on textile electrode is feasible.
