Abstract:Objective The differences and characteristics of EEG power spectrum and dominant frequency fluctuation during static and different difficulty tracking tasks were investigated. Methods Five healthy male volunteers, aged 20 ~40 years, served as the subjects.EEG were recorded during rest (eyes-closed) and tracking tasks and then analyzed with the EEG frequency fluctuation analysis system. Results There were significant differences in the probability distribution characteristics of the dominant frequency of static and tracking tasks.During the tracking tasks, the dominant frequency probability distribution curve shifted to the low frequency, the dominant frequency fluctuation entropy increased significantly, the distribution characteristics of the entropy in the brain area changed significantly, and the frequency of the dominant frequency increased significantly.During different difficulty tracking tasks, the change of the mean and dispersion degree of the dominant frequency sequence was related to the task difficulty, and the dominant frequency fluctuation entropy increased with the difficulty of the tracking tasks. Conclusion The changes of α-band frequency fluctuation characteristics reflect the significant changes of the brain activity during different difficulty tracking tasks. This method mav be helpful in the study of tracking-task workloads.
