Abstract:Objective To study comparatively the incidence of hyperintensities white matter hyperintensity signals (WMHS) in fighter pilots and normal human brain. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 120 cases of fighter pilots and 200 cases of normal persons who had a hospital health examination for MR examination. The prevalence and location of WMHS were compared. Results Pilot WMHS were 18 cases, the incidence rate was 15%;the common people WMHS were 15 cases, the incidence rate was 7.5%.There was difference in two groups(P < 0.05).Conclusion The incidence of pilot WMHS is higher than that of the ordinary people, mainly located in the frontal lobe.
