Abstract:Objective To comprehensively and accurately understand the changes of visual performance in simulated microgravity which is crucial to the success of manned space mission. Methods First, four test indicators including the intraocular pressure, near vision acuity, chromatic contrast sensitivity and visual tracking ability were selected.Then,-15° head-down bed rest(HDBR) for 30 min was used to simulated the effects of microgravity.Three rounds of tests in 18 subjects were carried out before, during, and after postural change to detect the variation of the four indicators. Finally, univariate repeated measures and paired T test were used to check the variation. Results The analysis results showed that the intraocular pressure increased immediately (11.72 mmHg) and decreases slowly during HDBR.In addition, near vision acuity was promoted by 0.09,chromatic contrast sensitivity threshold increased 0.4 and visual tracking accuracy declined 1.8% after the HDBR.Conclusion Intraocular pressure increased and the overall visual ability might decline in microgravity.
