Abstract:Objective To achieve EEG signal acquisition and processing, and extract the steady-state visual evoked potential (SSVEP) from the EEG signal accurately. Methods 8-channel EEG acquisition equipment was used to record the EEG signal evoked by LED flashing stimuli, and the original EEG signal was digitalized. The digital signal processing platform deployed on Android based phone received the digital EEG signal through Bluetooth and then spectrum analysis was conducted and the SSVEPs extracted. Results Ten volunteers participated in the experiment, and the average accuracy of feature recognition was higher than 90%.Conclusion EEG signal acquisition device can obtain EEG signals with high signal-to-noise ratio. The digital signal processing program can effectively detect SSVEPs.The merits including small in size, low power consumption and portability contribute to applying the designed system in EEG related applications such as sleep monitoring, mental telephone and intelligent wheelchair control, etc.
