Design of Helmet-mounted Display System for EVA Space suit

Abstract：Objective To study new display system for extra vehicular activity (EVA) space suit,and enhance the capability of receiving information by astronauts.Methods The requirements and indices of helmet-mounted display (HMD) for EVA space suit were analyzed.The display source,optical system,display control system and user information interface were designed.Results Based on EVA space suit' s configuration feature,a HMD system was proposed which was embedded in helmet pressure mask and fixed under ventiduct.It can meet the requirements of wearing and observing by the astronaut.Conclusion The designed HMD system can achieve the design goals and is expected to be further tested in real environment.
