Changes of α-Glucomembrane Protein and Prostaglandin at 5380 m above Sea Level
Abstract:Objective To explore the platelet activation level and the cha nges of thromboxane B2(TXB2) and 6-Keto-Prostaglandin F1α(6-Keto- PGF1α)which are metabolites of thromboxane A2 (TXA2) and prostacyclin (PGI2)u nder altitude condition. Method Levels of GMP-140,TXB2,6-Keto-PGF1 α,TXB2/6-Keto-PGF1α(T/K),vWF and Fg in serum were examined in 20 healthy young adults on the 7th day a fter ascending to an altitude of 5380 m from sea level and after stayed there for 6 months. The data were compared with those at sea level. Result The levels of GMP-140,TXB2,T/K,vWF and Fg were remarkably higher at 5380 m altitude on the 7th day and after stayed fo r 6 months than at sea level. While the level of 6-Keto-PGF1αwere decreased signif icantly (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion High altitude hypoxia, platelet activation, overproduction of TXA2,and decrease of PGI2 lead to imbalance of TXA 2/PGI2 and appeared to be associated with the development of hypoxic pulmonary hypertensi on.
