Abstract:Objective To compare the short-term effects of ultrasound-guided radiofrequency ablation and conventional thyroidectomy on thyroid function, hormone levels, inflammatory stress indicators, and quality of life in patients with hyperthyroidism. Methods This study was based on a prospective, non randomized controlled principle.A total of 71 patients with hyperthyroidism admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Chinese Medicine from December 2021 to December 2024 were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into a conventional group(35 cases)and an observation group(36 cases)according to the surgical plan. The conventional group of patients received conventional thyroidectomy treatment, while the observation group received ultrasound-guided radiofrequency ablation treatment. The surgical related indicators, thyroid function and hormone levels, inflammation and stress indicators, and prognosis quality of life levels of the two groups of patients were compared. Results The observation group had a shorter surgical time and less intraoperative bleeding compared to the control group(P<0.05).The pain level of the observation group patients was milder than that of the control group, and the postoperative hospitalization time was shorter than that of the control group(P<0.05).After one month of surgery, the serum levels of free thyroxine(FT4)and free triiodothyronine(FT3)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the level of thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH)was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).After one week of surgery, the levels of C-reactive protein(CRP),interleukin-6(IL-6),and cortisol(COR)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After one month of surgery, the physiological dimension, appearance dimension, and physical symptom scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion After ultrasound-guided radiofrequency ablation treatment for hyperthyroidism patients, serum thyroid hormones decreased and thyroid stimulating hormone returned to normal.Minimally invasive intervention can accurately regulate endocrine function, effectively regulate inflammatory response and stress levels, and improve prognosis and quality of life.
