Post-traumatic Stress Disorder After Perinatal Loss in Women:A Latent Profile Analysis

Abstract:Objective To explore potential categories and characteristics of post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD)in women with perinatal loss,and to analyze the related influencing factors.Methods A convenient sampling method was used to select women with perinatal loss who were hospitalized and treated in grade A tertiary hospital in Zhengzhou from July 2022 to November 2023 as the survey population.The study instruments included the general information questionnaire,the post-traumatic stress disorder checklist-civilian version,the hospital anxiety and depression scale,the perinatal grief scale,the simplified coping style questionnaire,the perceived social support scale,and the Pittsburgh sleep quality index.Latent profile was analyzed using the categories of PTSD in women with perinatal loss,binary logistic regression analysis to identify the factors associated with the potential categories of PTSD.Results A total of 400 women with perinatal loss were investigated,and according to the results of latent profile analysis,the PTSD in women with perinatal loss were classified into two categories,defined as low PTSD-representation of distressing experiences group(322 cases,80.5%)and high PTSD-good social functioning group(78 cases,19.5%).The result of binary logistic regression analysis showed that gestational age,anxiety status,depression status and Pittsburgh sleep quality index were the influencing factors of the potential categories of PTSD in women with perinatal loss(P<0.05).Conclusion Women with perinatal loss have obvious differences in characteristics by PTSD.It is suggested that health care professionals can adopt targeted nursing interventions according to the personality characteristics of different classes of women with perinatal loss to avoid post-traumatic stress disorder.
