Application of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis in Hospital Infection Management of Traditional Chinese Medical Technology

Abstract：Objective To explore the application of failure mode and effect analysis(FMEA)in hospital infection management of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)medical technology.Methods To form an assessment team,risk assessment of hospital infection management in traditional Chinese medical technology was carried out by using FMEA method,and intervention measures were taken for high-risk projects,and changes before and after intervention were compared.Results The key points to be improved were inadequate disinfection of skin,non-replacement of cotton swabs at each point,premature opening of acupuncture needles,low compliance of hand hygiene and non-standard disinfection process of cupping.After intervention,the risk priority number(RPN)value of each item decreased significantly,the compliance rate of hand hygiene,the standard rate of aseptic technique operation,the standard rate of disinfection process increased(P＜0.05),and the correct rate of hand hygiene increased,but there was no statistical significance(P＞0.05).Conclusion The risk assessment based on FMEA has a good effect of prevention and control for the determination and intervention of risk points of hospital infection in TCM medical technology.
