Effect of Traditional Chinese Medicine Compress Combined with Fire Dragon Jar on Knee Joint Function and Pain in Patients with Knee Obstruction

Abstract:Objective To explore the influence of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)compress combined with fire dragon jar on the knee joint function and pain of patients with knee obstruction.Methods Eighty-six patients with knee obstruction hospitalized in Henan Provincial Hospital of TCM from January 2023 to May 2024 were selected and divided into a control group(43 cases)and an observation group(43 cases)using a random number table method.The control group received conventional rehabilitation training,while the observation group received TCM compress combined with fire dragon jar in addition to the conventional rehabilitation training.The knee joint function,pain,osteoarthritis index,and TCM syndrome scores of the two groups were compared.Results After intervention,the scores of knee joint function in both groups increased,and the scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).After intervention,the pain and osteoarthritis index scores in both groups decreased,and the scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).After intervention,the TCM syndrome scores in both groups decreased,and the scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion TCM compress combined with fire dragon jar can effectively improve the knee joint function of patients with knee obstruction,reduce their pain,improve their clinical symptoms,and contribute to the recovery of joint function.
