Abstract:Objective To explore the effects of Orem self-care mode on self-care ability, psychology, and quality of life in patients with aplastic anemia(AA)undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(HSCT).Methods Clinical data of 141 AA patients treated with HSCT in the Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2020 to January 2024 were retrospectively collected.According to nursing plans, they were divided into a control group(70 cases, conventional nursing mode)and an observation group(71 cases, conventional nursing mode and Orem self-care mode),both of which completed a 3-month intervention. The self-care ability, psychological state, and quality of life were compared between two groups. Results After the intervention, the scores of exercise of self-care agency scale(ESCA)and functional assessment of cancer treatment-bone marrow transplant(FACT-BMT)in the two groups were all higher than before the intervention, and the subscale of anxiety and depression in hospital anxiety and depression scale(HADS)was lower than before the intervention, and the scores of ESCA and FACT-BMT in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, while the subscale of anxiety and depression in HADS was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The Orem self-care model can improve the self-care ability of AA patients after HSCT,improve their psychological state and quality of life.
