Abstract:Objective To observe the effects of respiratory training and acupoint application on pulmonary function, quality of life and exercise endurance in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods Eighty-two patients with COPD admitted to Henan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2024 to March 2025 were randomly divided into the observation group(41 cases)and the control group(41 cases). The control group received routine care, while the observation group was given respiratory exercises and acupoint application on the basis of routine nursing, the intervention period was 12 weeks. The pulmonary function indicators, quality of life, degree of dyspnea, exercise endurance and therapeutic effects before and after the intervention were compared between the two groups. Results Before the intervention, there was no significant difference in each index between the two groups(P>0.05).After the intervention, the pulmonary function indicators in the observation group were(1.53±0.34)L,(58.44±8.30)%and(2.49±0.50)L,respectively,which were higher than those of the control group[(1.32±0.29)L,(55.15±7.97)%,(2.25±0.42)L](P<0.05).The quality of life score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group(t=5.881,P<0.05).The dyspnea severity was lower than that of the control group(t=9.852,P<0.05).The exercise tolerance score was higher than that of the control group(t=4.133,P<0.05).The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was 92.68%,which was higher than 73.17%in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Respiratory training combined with acupoint application therapy can significantly improve the pulmonary function, quality of life and exercise endurance of patients with COPD.It is a safe and effective non-pharmaceutical treatment method and is worthy of clinical promotion.
