Effect of Spiritual Care Training Based on the PERMA Model on New Nurses with High Occupational Stress in an Oncology Hospital

Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of PERMA-based spiritual care training among new nurses with high occupational stress.Methods This study belonged to quasiexperimental study with comparison before and after intervention.Thirty-eight new nurses with high occupational stress who recruited Henan Provincial Cancer Hospital in July 2023 were selected as the study subjects,they were divided into 4 groups,with 9 to 10 cases in each group,and the PERMA-based spiritual care training was carried out for 7 weeks.The training effects were compared with the Chinese nurses stressor scale(CNSS),10-item Connor-Davidson resilience scale(CD-RISC-10),and Chinese version of the meaning of life questionnaire(MLQ)before and after the training.Results The new nurses' occupational stress scores after training were lower than those before training,and the scores of psychological resilience and sense of meaning in life were higher than those before training(P<0.05).Conclusion The PERMA-based spiritual care training can effectively alleviate new nurses' occupational stress,improve their mental health and enhance sense of meaning in life.
