Abstract:Objective To explore the changes and clinical significance of cardiac troponin I(cTnI),brain natriuretic peptide(BNP),and pentraxin-3(PTX-3)levels in patients with viral myocarditis(VM).Methods A total of 60 VM patients admitted to Zhengzhou Central Hospital from January 2023 to January 2025 were selected as the case group, and 60 healthy individuals undergoing physical examinations during the same period were selected as the control group. The levels of cTnI,BNP,and PTX-3 were compared between the two groups.According to the severity of VM,the case group was further divided into a severe group and a mild-to-moderate group.Clinical data and levels of cTnI,BNP,and PTX-3 were compared between the two subgroups.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to identify factors influencing the severity of VM.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves were drawn to evaluate the value of cTnl,BNP,and PTX-3 in assessing the severity of VM.Results The levels of cTnl,BNP,and PTX-3 in the case group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The severe group had higher levels of interleukin-6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),cTnl,BNP,and PTX-3 than the mild-to-moderate group(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that cTnl(OR=3.829),BNP(OR=2.665),and PTX-3(OR=4.721)were independent predictors of the severity of VM(P<0.05).The ROC curve showed that the area under the curve of the combined detection was larger than that of cTnI,BNP,or PTX-3 alone(P<0.05).Conclusion The levels of cTnI,BNP,and PTX-3 are highly expressed in patients with VM,and the combined detection has high value in assessing the severity of the disease.
