Abstract:Objective To explore the relevant risk factors for hypofibrinogenemia(HFIB)in children with epilepsy treated with valproic acid(VPA),and to provide a basis for clinical identification of high-risk children and formulation of monitoring strategies. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the data of 89 children with epilepsy who were treated with VPA and regularly followed up in Zhoukou Maternal and Child Health Hospital from June 2023 to May 2024.The patients were divided into an occurrence group and a non-occurrence group. The differences in gender, age, nutritional status, whether single-drug therapy was used, drug dosage, blood drug concentration, and liver function status were compared between the two groups. The occurrence of HFIB in each group was statistically analyzed, and the differences between the groups were compared.Results(1)Among the 89 children, the incidence of HFIB was 57.3%.(2)Univariate analysis showed that there was a statistically significant difference in age between the two groups(P<0.05),while there were no statistically significant differences in gender, development status, whether single-drug therapy was used, the dosage of VPA,blood drug concentration, and liver function status(P>0.05).(3)V ariables with P<0.2 in the univariate analysis were included in the multivariate analysis.Age was an influencing factor for the occurrence of HFIB,and the population aged 0-3 years was at a higher risk. Conclusion Infants(0-3 years)are the high-risk population for VPA-related HFIB.
