Abstract:Objective To study the relationship between self-perceived burden, social support and quality of life in patients with gastric cancer undergoing endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD).Methods A total of 102 patients with gastric cancer who underwent ESD in General Hospital of Pingmei Medical Group from March 2020 to March 2022 were selected, and the patients were assessed for self-perceived burden[self-perceived burden scale(SPBS)],social support[social support rating scale(SSRS)],and quality of life[the MOS item short form health survey(SF-36)].The scores were analyzed, and the correlations between self-perceived burden, social support and quality of life were analyzed. Results The SPBS scores of 102 patients showed that they believed that caregivers were affected by their health, were overworked, brought financial difficulties, felt guilty for their demands, worried that caregivers could not cope with the needs of care, thought they were a trouble to caregivers, worried that caregivers would bear excessive responsibility, believed that caregivers could cope with the care work, worried that caregivers needed to face many things at any time, felt that they were a burden were all at a relatively high level. The SSRS scores of 102 patients showed that subjective support, objective support, and utilization of support were all at a relatively low level. The SF-36 scores of 102 patients showed that physical function, social and family status, emotional status, and overall health were all at a relatively low level.Pearson analysis showed that self-perceived burden was negatively correlated with quality of life, and social support was positively correlated with quality of life(P<0.05).Conclusion There is a significant correlation between self-perceived burden, social support and quality of life in patients with gastric cancer undergoing ESD.The higher the score of self-perceived burden and the lower the social support, the worse the quality of life.Clinical measures should be taken to strengthen social support intervention and reduce the self-perceived burden of patients.
