Abstract:Objective To explore the relationship between serum catalase(CAT),glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px),triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells-1(TREM-1)levels and disease activity in patients with ulcerative colitis(UC).Methods A total of 256 UC patients admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2021 to December 2023 were selected.According to the modified Mayo score, patients were divided into clinical remission group(82 cases)and active group(174 cases)[mild(60 cases),moderate(68 cases),severe(46 cases)].The differences in clinical data and serum levels of CAT,GSH-Px and TREM-1 among groups were compared.Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between serum levels of CAT,GSH-Px,TREM-1 and disease activity.logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of disease activity.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was used to analyze the predictive value of serum CAT,GSH-Px and TREM-1 levels for disease activity. Results Serum CAT and GSH-Px levels gradually decreased with the increase of UC disease activity, while serum TREM-1 level gradually increased(P<0.05).Compared with the active group(mild, moderate, severe),the clinical remission group had higher serum CAT and GSH-Px levels and lower serum TREM-1 level(P<0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed that the modified Mayo score was negatively correlated with serum CAT and GSH-Px levels, and positively correlated with serum TREM-1 level(r=-0.626,-0.545,0.598,all P<0.05).logistic regression analysis showed that serum CAT,GSH-Px and TREM-1 levels were influencing factors of disease activity in UC patients(OR=0.510,0.484,2.380,P=0.007,0.005,0.022).ROC curve analysis showed that the area under the curve(AUC)of the combined prediction of serum CAT,GSH-Px and TREM-1 was 0.944(95%CI:0.916-0.973),which was higher than that of each indicator alone, with a sensitivity of 90.23%and a specificity of 89.02%(Z=5.079,5.108,5.377,all P<0.05).Conclusion Serum CAT and GSH-Px levels gradually decrease with the aggravation of UC disease activity, while serum TREM-1 level gradually increases, and they are closely related to disease activity. The combination of the three has high predictive efficiency for disease activity, which is helpful for early clinical diagnosis and assessment of disease severity.
