Effect of Aerobic Cycle Ergometer Combined with Respiratory Training on Rehabilitation of Patients After Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of aerobic cycle ergometer combined with respiratory training on the rehabilitation of patients after coronary artery bypass grafting(CABG).Methods A total of 86 patients scheduled for CABG in Fuwai Central China Cardiovascular Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were prospectively enrolled and randomly divided into a control group and an intervention group,with 43 cases in each group.Both groups received routine interventions.The control group received respiratory training,while the intervention group received additional aerobic cycle ergometer training on the basis of the control group.Both groups were intervened until discharge.Hospitalization-related indicators were compared between the two groups,and changes in cardiopulmonary function and quality of life before surgery and at discharge were compared.Results The first ambulation time and length of hospital stay in the intervention group were shorter than those in the control group(P＜0.05).At discharge,the left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)and 6-minute walk test(6MWT)distance in the intervention group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05),while the left ventricular end-diastolic dimension(LVEDD)was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05).All dimension scores of the 36-item short form health survey(SF-36)in the intervention group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Aerobic cycle ergometer combined with respiratory training can effectively shorten the postoperative first ambulation time and length of hospital stay,accelerate rehabilitation,improve cardiopulmonary function,and enhance quality of life in patients after CABG.
