Effect of Vericiguat on Cardiac Function and Biochemical Indexes in Patients with Heart Failure with Reduced Ejection Fraction

Abstract：Objective To explore the effects of vericiguat on cardiac function and biochemical indexes in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction(HFrEF).Methods A total of 70 patients with HFrEF who received treatment in Zhengzhou People's Hospital from January to December 2023 were selected as the study objects,and randomly divided into observation group(35 cases)and control group(35 cases).Patients in both groups were treated with conventional anti-heart failure drugs,and patients in the observation group were given vericiguat tablets on the basis.Both groups were treated continuously for 3 months.Before and after treatment,cardiac color ultrasound indicators of left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),left ventricular end diastolic diameter(LVEDD),left atrium diameter(LAD),left ventricular posterior wall thickness at diastole(LVPWD)were measured,the biochemical indexes of N-terminal B-type natriuretic peptide precursor(NT-proBNP),soluble growth stimulation expressed gene 2(sST2)were measured,and the numbers of adverse reactions were recorded.Results After treatment,cardiac function indexes such as LVEF,LVEDD,LAD and LVPWD were significantly improved in both groups,and LVEF in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group,while LVEDD,LAD and LVPWD were significantly lower than that in control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,the biochemical indexes of NT-proBNP and sST2 in both groups were decreased,and the above indexes in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion Vericiguat in the treatment of HFrEF could improve cardiac function and serum biochemical indexes in patients,and the safety was reliable.
