Efficacy of Local Injection of Triamcinolone Acetonide on Hypertrophic Scar

Abstract：Objective To investigate the efficacy of local injection of triamcinolone acetonide in the treatment of hypertrophic scar(HS).Methods A total of 150 patients with HS in the hospital from January 2021 to September 2023 were selected as the subjects of this study.According to the random envelope method,they were divided into conventional group(75 cases,conventional treatment)and observation group(75 cases,local injection of triamcinolone acetonide on the basis of conventional group).Both groups were treated for 2 months.The clinical efficacy,scar blood perfusion volume,scar thickness,serological indicators[vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),epidermal growth factor(EGF),serum transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)],vancouver scar scale(VSS)scores,dermatology life quality inventory(DLQI)and adverse reactions were observed and compared between groups.Results After 2 months of treatment,the clinical efficacy in observation group was better than that in conventional group(P＜0.05).Before treatment,scar thickness,scar blood perfusion volume,serological indicators,VSS scores and DLQI score were similar in two groups(P＞0.05).After 2 months of treatment,the scar thickness and scar blood perfusion volume in the two groups were less than those before treatment,and the indicators in observation group were less than those in conventional group(P＜0.05).The levels of VEGF,TGF-β1 and EGF,VSS scores and DLQI score in both groups were declined than those before treatment,and the levels and scores in observation group were lower(P＜0.05).After 6 months of follow-up after the end of treatment,the total incidence rate of adverse reactions in observation group was 4.00％,and that in conventional group was 9.33％(P＞0.05).Conclusion Local injection of triamcinolone acetonide has significant efficacy on patients with HS.It can significantly improve the scar thickness,scar blood perfusion volume and serum indicators,and enhance the quality of life of patients,and it has safety and popularization and application valve.
