Clinical Effect of Nasal Endoscopic Modification Combined with Middle Turbinectomy in Patients with Sinusitis

Abstract：Objective To explore the clinical effect of nasal endoscopic modification combined with middle turbinectomy in patients with sinusitis.Methods This study was a prospective cohort study.According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,92 patients with sinusitis in otorhinolaryngology head and neck surgery in the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from July 2023 to June 2024 were selected and divided into two groups by the odd-even number grouping method.The control group(46 cases)was given endoscopic open surgery,and the study group(46 cases)was given nasal endoscopic modified surgery combined with middle turbinectomy.The surgical efficacy,improvement of clinical symptoms,nasal cavity function,complications and recurrence rate were compared.Results The total clinical effective rate was higher in the study group than in the control group(P＜0.05).The Lund-Kennedy scores at 3 and 6 months postoperatively were lower in the study group than in the control group(P＜0.05),intra-group comparisons also showed statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).At 6 months postoperatively,the overall olfactory function of the nasal cavity in the study group was better than that in the control group(P＜0.05).The complication rate and recurrence rate were both lower in the study group than in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Nasal endoscopic modified surgery combined with middle turbinectomy for patients with sinusitis can improve the clinical effect,alleviate clinical symptoms and the olfactory function of the nasal cavity,reduce postoperative complications and recurrence rates,and provide an important basis for optimizing clinical treatment strategies.
