Mediating Effect of Psychological Resilience in Pregnant Women with Vaginal Delivery on Dyadic Coping and Perception of Childbirth Trauma

Abstract:Objective To explore the mediating role of psychological resilience in parturients between dyadic coping and perception of childbirth trauma.Methods A total of 460 parturients from two hospitals in Zhengzhou were surveyed using the general information questionnaire,psychological resilience scale,dyadic coping scale,and vaginal childbirth trauma perception scale.Results The scores of psychological resilience,dyadic coping,and childbirth trauma perception were(59.20±13.94)points,(129.83±13.35)points,and(66.24±19.75)points,respectively.Psychological resilience was negatively correlated with childbirth trauma perception(r=-0.157,P<0.001),dyadic coping was negatively correlated with childbirth trauma perception(r=-0.137,P<0.001),and psychological resilience was positively correlated with dyadic coping(r=0.536,P<0.001).Tenacity,self-strengthening,and optimism exhibited mediating effects between dyadic coping and childbirth trauma perception,with effect proportions of 13.44%,10.49%,and 23.84%,respectively.Conclusion The perception of childbirth trauma in women with vaginal delivery is at a moderate level,and psychological resilience mediates the relationship between dyadic coping and childbirth trauma perception.Obstetric healthcare providers should implement targeted interventions based on the psychological characteristics of pregnant women to enhance their psychological resilience and dyadic coping abilities,thereby reducing childbirth trauma and promoting maternal mental health.
