Infection Status and Genotype Characteristics of Human Papillomavirus in Women Undergoing Physical Examinations at a Grade A Tertiary Hospital in Henan Province from 2019 to 2024

Abstract：Objective To analyze the level of human papillomavirus(HPV)infection,genotype distribution,and their relationship with age among women undergoing physical examinations in Henan Province,providing a basis for regional cervical cancer prevention and control.Methods A total of 5 973 female examinees who underwent HPV DNA genotyping from 2019 to 2024 were included in the study.The overall infection rate,distribution of different genotypes,and multiple infections were analyzed.The x2 test was used to compare infection rates among different age groups,and binary logistic regression was applied to analyze the relationship between age and HPV infection.Results A total of 1 214 HPV-positive cases were detected,with an overall infection rate of 20.3％(1 214/5 973).Among them,664 cases(54.7％)were high-risk types,403 cases(33.2％)were low-risk types,and 147 cases(12.1％)were other types.The most common high-risk types were HPV52(143 cases,21.5％),HPV16(122 cases,18.4％),and HPV58(71 cases,10.7％).There was a significant difference in infection rates among different age groups(x2=153.940,P＜0.001),with the highest infection rate observed in the 26-35 age group(498 cases,26.7％).Logistic regression showed that age was a protective factor for HPV infection(OR=0.97,95％CI:0.96-0.98,P＜0.001).A total of 286 cases(23.6％)had multiple HPV infections,with dual infections being the most common.Conclusion The HPV infection rate among the female examinees in Henan Province is relatively high,with a predominance of high-risk types and significant age-related differences.Screening and prevention strategies should focus on the high-risk group of women aged 26-35 years and enhance monitoring of the major high-risk genotypes.
