Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of intermittent θ burst stimulation combined with upper limb strength training on upper limb function in patients with cerebral infarction. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 91 patients with cerebral infarction admitted to Kaifeng Central Hospital between April 2021 and April 2023.According to the intervention method,45 patients who received routine rehabilitation+upper limb strength training were included in the control group, and 46 patients who received routine rehabilitation+upper limb strength training+intermittent θ burst stimulation were included in the observation group. Both groups were evaluated for intervention effects at the end of continuous intervention for 5 weeks, and their medical information, rehabilitation training information, intervention information, and related outcome data were fully preserved. The patient's data were carefully reviewed, and the main results of the two groups were recorded, including upper limb motor function[simple Fugl-Meyer upper limb motor function scale(FMA-UE),arm research arm test(ARAT)evaluation],surface electromyography results and activities of daily living[modified Barthel index(MBI)evaluation].Results Compared to before the intervention, the FMA-UE,ARAT,and MBI scores increased in both groups after the intervention(P<0.05),and the observation group showed higher scores than the control group(P<0.05).Compared to before the intervention, the surface electromyography(sEMG)levels on the affected side increased in both groups after the intervention(P<0.05),and the observation group had higher levels than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of intermittent θ burst stimulation combined with upper limb strength training in the rehabilitation of upper limb motor function in patients with cerebral infarction can effectively improve the control of upper limb movement on the affected side, promote muscle strength recovery, increase upper limb strength, and enhance the patient's daily living activities.
