Abstract:Objective To explore the effects of unicompartmental knee arthroplasty on postoperative recovery effect in patients with medial unicompartmental knee osteoarthritis. Methods A total of 120 patients with medial unicompartmental knee osteoarthritis admitted to Henan Luoyang Orthopedic Hospital were enrolled between April 2022 and April 2024.According to surgical methods, they were divided into total knee group(65 cases, total knee arthroplasty)and single condyle group(55 cases, unicompartmental knee arthroplasty). The postoperative recovery, pain scores, range of motion,Hospital for Special Surgery(HSS)knee joint scores, imaging improvement(correction of lower limb force-wire)and occurrence of complications in the two groups were compared before and after surgery. Results The hemoglobin decrease at 3 days after surgery, postoperative drainage volume, spending time of spontaneous bending(90°)and length of hospital stay in single condyle group were lower than those in whole knee group(P<0.05).At 1,3 and 6 months after surgery, scores of pain in single condyle group were lower than those in whole knee group(P<0.05),range of motion was greater than that in whole knee group(P<0.05),and scores of knee function were higher than those in whole knee group(P<0.05).After the last follow-up,hip knee ankle angle in single condyle group was greater than that in whole knee group, while tibiofemoral angle was lower than that in whole knee group(P<0.05).Conclusion Unicompartmental knee arthroplasty can promote postoperative recovery, alleviate joint pain, improve range of motion, with better imaging improvement.
