Abstract:Objective To explore the impact of plastic splint fixation on the risk of secondary injury and emergency response efficiency in patients with limb fractures and multiple traumas. Methods A total of 100 patients with limb fractures and multiple traumas admitted to the emergency department of Henan Chest Hospital from December 2022 to November 2023 were selected. They were divided into a control group and an observation group by drawing lots, with 50 cases in each group. The control group was fixed with rigid wooden splints, while the observation group was externally fixed with plastic splints. The secondary injury rate, successful transport rate, pain status, and emergency response efficiency of the two groups of patients were compared. Results The incidence of secondary injury in the observation group, the success rate of transportation, and the degree of splint adherence were better than those in the control group(P<0.05).The comparison of the severity of pain after external fixation treatment between two groups of fractures showed that the observation group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the observation group had lower emergency response efficiency indicators(P<0.05).The prognosis of the two groups was compared, and the probability of complications in the combination group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion After external fixation with plastic splints, the secondary injury rate and pain level of patients are reduced, the success rate of transportation and emergency response efficiency are improved, and the prognosis is good.
