Current Situation and Influencing Factors of the Preparedness in Caregivers of Children Undergoing Kindney Transplantation

Abstract：Objective To investigate the current status and influencing factors of caregiver preparedness for pediatric kidney transplant recipients.Methods Using the convenience sampling method,209 caregivers of children who received kidney transplants and were hospitalized at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from July 2022 to May 2024 were selected as the research subjects.A questionnaire survey was conducted using a general information questionnaire,social factors,caregiver preparedness scale,caregiver burden scale,and resilience scale.Univariate analysis,multivariate analysis,and interaction analysis were performed.Results The mean score on the caregiver preparedness scale for pediatric kidney transplant recipients was(17.22±3.21),and 59.81％of caregivers experienced light to moderate caregiving burden.Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that education level,caregiving experience,relationship with the child,caregiving burden,resilience,insurance coverage,community activity participation,and family support significantly affected caregiver preparedness(P＜0.05).Further analysis of interactions revealed significant effects of the following interactions on caregiver preparedness:education level × caregiving burden,caregiving experience × resilience,insurance coverage × caregiving burden,community activity participation × education level,and family support × caregiving burden(P＜0.05).Conclusion The main influencing factors of caregiver preparedness for pediatric kidney transplant recipients include education level,caregiving experience,caregiving burden,resilience,insurance coverage,community activity participation,and family support.Additionally,the interaction between these factors significantly influences caregiver preparedness.
