Abstract:Objective To observe the variation of choroidal vascularity index(CVI)in pre-and post-treatment of neovascular age-related macular degeneration(nAMD).Methods The data of 35 eyes of 35 cases with nAMD from June 2023 to June 2025 were analyzed retrospectively. The control group selected 35 normal subjects(35 eyes)without oculopathy, with age and gender matching.Patients in the experimental group received intravitreal injection of conbercept three times. The best corrected visual acuity(BCVA),central retinal thickness(CRT)and CVI of the patients before the operation,6 months after the treatment and the control group were compared. Results The differences in BCVA between the two groups at different time points were statistically significant(F=31.235,P<0.001).The CRT of patients in the experimental group at 6 months after the treatment was improved compared with that before the operation(t=67.458,P<0.001).There were statistically significant differences in CVI between the two groups at different time points and in different regions(fovea 1 mm,superior, nasal, inferior and temporal of 1-3 mm,and superior, nasal, inferior and temporal of 3-6 mm)(F=21.364,18.325,16.827,13.154,21.412,14.391,19.054,14.524,16.274,P<0.001).The CVI in the experimental group 6 months after the treatment was improved compared with that before the operation(P<0.001).Conclusion The CVI of nAMD patients improved after treatment, which may be related to the treatment response. Its clinical/predictive value needs to be further verified by prospective studies.
