Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlation between serum sclerostin(SOST)and calcium-phosphorus metabolism in patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis,as well as the impact of SOST on the prognosis of adverse cardiovascular events,so as to provide more effective clinical treatment strategies and preventive measures. Methods A prospective cohort study design was adopted in this research, with 118 peritoneal dialysis patients enrolled as the research subjects.A comprehensive baseline assessment was conducted for all patients, including the detection and recording of SOST,fibroblast growth factor 23(FGF23),25-hydroxyvitamin D3[25(OH)VitD3],calcium-phosphorus metabolism indicators and other relevant parameters. All patients were followed up for 24 months, and the occurrence of adverse cardiovascular events was recorded during the follow-up period. Results Among maintenance peritoneal dialysis patients, the levels of age, dialysis vintage, serum calcium, serum phosphorus, intact parathyroid hormone,SOST and FGF23 in the adverse cardiovascular events occurrence group were all higher than those in the non-occurrence group.Serum SOST level was positively correlated with FGF23 and serum calcium(P<0.05),but had no significant correlation with serum phosphorus(P>0.05).Age,dialysis vintage, serum phosphorus, hemoglobin and SOST were identified as risk factors for adverse cardiovascular events.Patients with higher SOST levels had a significantly increased risk of developing adverse cardiovascular events. Conclusion SOST is closely associated with calcium-phosphorus metabolic disorders in peritoneal dialysis patients and has a strong correlation with the prognosis of adverse cardiovascular events.Interventions targeting SOST may help ameliorate mineral and bone metabolic disorders and reduce the risk of adverse cardiovascular events in peritoneal dialysis patients.
