Correlation Between Serum Hcy,HMGB1,SII Index and Prognosis of Newly Diagnosed Multiple Myeloma Patients

Abstract：Objective To investigate the correlation of serum homocysteine(Hcy),high mobility group box 1 protein(HMGB1),systemic immune-inflammation(SII)index with the prognosis of patients with primary diagnosis of multiple myeloma(MM).Methods Eighty-two MM patients admitted to Anyang District Hospital from January 2017 to January 2022 were selected as study subjects,and patients were divided into a good prognosis group(56 cases)and a poor prognosis group(26 cases)according to their survival in 2 years of follow-up.The prognostic factors affecting the prognosis of patients with primary diagnosis of MM were analysed by binary logistic regression,and the efficacy of predicting the prognosis of patients with primary diagnosis of MM by using the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)analysis of serum Hcy,HMGB1,SII with the combined data,and the correlation among serum Hcy,HMGB1 and SII were analysed.Results Binary logistic regression analysis showed that age,serum Hcy,HMGB1,and SII were prognostic risk factors(P＜0.05).The area under the curve(AUC)of serum Hcy,HMGB1,and SII for predicting the prognosis of patients with first-diagnosed MM using ROC analysis were 0.905,0.905,and 0.794,with sensitivities and specificities of 76.9％/89.3％,80.8％/96.4％,and 100.0％/50.0％,respectively.The AUC of the three combined predictors of prognosis for patients with primary MM was 0.940,with a sensitivity of 80.8％and a specificity of 98.2％.Spearman rank correlation showed positive correlation among serum Hcy,HMGB1,and SII with each other(r=0.615,0.730,0.558,P＜0.05).Conclusion Age,serum Hcy,HMGB1 and SII are all prognostic risk factors for patients with MM at the first diagnosis,and serum Hcy,HMGB1 and SII can be used as effective indexes for prediction,with better joint prediction efficacy.
