Abstract:Objective To explore the correlation between change characteristics of serum preptin, growth differentiation factor 15(GDF-15)and intestinal floras and maternal and neonatal outcomes in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM).Methods Fifty-five pregnant women with GDM who underwent antenatal examination at Henan Provincial People's Hospital from January 2021 to December 2022 were enrolled as the GDM group.Another 55 pregnant women without GDM who had antenatal examination during the same period were randomly selected as the nonGDM group. The levels of serum preptin,GDF-15 and intestinal floras, and pregnancy outcomes were compared between the two groups. The levels of serum preptin,GDF-15 and intestinal floras were compared between GDM patients with favorable and adverse maternal-infant outcomes. Results The levels of FBG,TG,HbA1c,FINS and HOMA-IR in GDM group were higher than those in nonGDM group(P<0.05),and levels of serum preptin and GDF-15 were also higher than those in nonGDM group(P<0.05).The counts of Enterobacterium and Enterococcus in GDM group were higher than those in nonGDM group, while counts of Bifidobacteria and Lactobacillus were lower than those in nonGDM group(P<0.05).A total of 20 cases of adverse outcomes occurred in both groups, with 15 cases in GDM group and 5 cases in nonGDM group. The incidence of adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes in GDM group was higher than that in nonGDM group(P<0.05).Within the GDM group, the levels of serum preptin and GDF-15 in patients with good maternal and infant outcomes were lower than those in patients with poor outcomes(P<0.05),the counts of Enterobacterium and Enterococcus were lower than those in adverse pregnancy group, while counts of Bifidobacteria and Lactobacillus were higher than those in adverse pregnancy group(P<0.05).Conclusion There levels of serum preptin and GDF-15 are abnormally increased, and intestinal floras are disordered in pregnant women with GDM,and the above changes are related to the occurrence of adverse pregnancy.
