Abstract:Objective To compare and analyze the application effects of Kessler suture repair and conventional suture repair in patients with flexor tendon rupture in the hand. Methods Retrospectively selected the clinical data of 166 patients with flexor tendon rupture in the hand at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinxiang Medical College from January 2021 to January 2023,and 80 patients treated with conventional suture were included in the control group, and 86 patients treated with Kessler suture repair were included in the study group. The clinical efficacy,pre-and post-operative hand joint mobility[distal interphalangeal joint(DIP),proximal interphalangeal joint(PIP),metacarpophalangeal joint(MP)].and complications were compared between the two groups. Results There was a statistically significant difference in the total effective rate between the two groups(93.02%,81.25%)(P<0.05).At 1 and 3 months post-surgery,the DIP,MP,and PIP indicators showed an upward trend in both groups, with the study group higher than the control group(P<0.05).There was also a statistically significant difference in the complication rate between the two groups(2.33%,12.50%)(P<0.05).Conclusion Patients with ruptured flexor tendons in the hand undergoing Kessler suture repair can improve clinical treatment outcomes and promote rapid recovery of hand function.
