Current Status of Disease Uncertainty Among Primary Caregivers of Emergency Stroke Patients and Its Impact on Readiness to Care

Abstract:Objective To investigate the status quo of disease uncertainty in primary caregivers of emergency stroke patients and its impact on care readiness.Methods The main caregivers of 238 emergency stroke patients in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from February 2022 to February 2024 were selected and investigated by general data questionnaire,family of uncertainty scale and caregiver readiness scale.Results The total score of uncertainty and readiness were(97.62±16.59)and(18.82±5.76),respectively.Hierarchical regression analysis showed that disease uncertainty was an important predictor of caregiving readiness and could independently explain 17.5%of the variation in caregiving readiness.Conclusion Disease uncertainty is an important factor affecting the care readiness of primary caregivers of stroke patients in emergency departments.Clinical staff can develop targeted interventions to reduce the disease uncertainty of primary caregivers of stroke patients and improve their care readiness.
