Effect of Remazolam on Transurethral Prostatic Resection by Laryngeal Mask General Anesthesia in Elderly Patients

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of remazolam on transurethral prostatic resection by laryngeal mask general anesthesia in elderly patients.Methods A total of 80 elderly male patients receiving transurethral resection of prostate from April 2024 to January 2025 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into remazolam group(group R)and control group(group P),with 40 cases each.Remazolam was used for anesthesia induction and maintenance in group R,and propofol was used for anesthesia induction and maintenance in group P.The hemodynamics were compared before anesthesia induction(T0),1 minute after laryngeal mask placement(T,),5 minutes after laryngeal mask placement(T2),30 minutes at the beginning of surgery(T3),the end of surgery(T4)and recovery and laryngeal mask extraction(T5).Sedation onset time,recovery time,laryngeal mask extraction time,post anesthesia care unit(PACU)residence time and adverse events were recorded in the two groups.Results Compared with T0,the mean arterial pressure(MAP)and heart rate(HR)of the group R at T1-T4 and the group P at T1-T5 time points were decreased(P＜0.05).The indexes of MAP and HR of the group R were higher than the group P at T1-T5(P＜0.05).The recovery time,laryngeal mask extraction time and PACU residence time of the group R were shorter(P＜0.05).The incidences of hypotension and injection pain of the group R were lower(P＜0.05).Conclusion Remazolam was used for transurethral prostatic resection by laryngeal mask general anesthesia in elderly patients,which had less hemodynamic fluctuation during surgery and faster recovery after anesthesia,and reduced the risk of adverse events in hypotension and injection pain.
