Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of enteral nutrition(EN)intervention based on ultrasound measurement of gastric antral motility index and gastric residual volume(GRV)on patients in the cardiac intensive care unit. Methods From July 2022 to June 2023,160 patients in the cardiac intensive care unit were selected and randomly divided into a control group(received EN intervention based on traditional syringe aspiration of gastric juice monitoring GRV,80 cases)and a study group(received EN intervention based on ultrasound measurement of gastric antral motility index and GRV,80 cases)using a random number table method.Clinical related indicators, nutritional status, intestinal barrier function, and complications were compared between the two groups. Results Compared with the control group, the study group had shorter ICU stay time, mechanical ventilation time, time to reach target feeding volume, shorter hospitalization time, and lower hospitalization costs(P<0.05).After 7 days of intervention, the levels of serum albumin(PA),total protein(TP),albumin(Alb),hemoglobin(Hb),and transferrin(TF)increased in both groups(P<0.05),and the levels in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After 7 days of intervention, the levels of D-lactate(DLA),diamine oxidase(DAO),and lipopolysaccharide(LPS)in both groups decreased(P<0.05),and the levels in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The diarrhea rate, abdominal distension rate,ventilator-associated pneumonia rate, and EN interruption rate of the study group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of EN intervention based on ultrasound measurement of gastric antral motility index and GRV in cardiac intensive care unit patients can improve nutritional status and intestinal barrier function, reduce complications, and promote faster recovery of patients.
