Abstract:Objective To explore the correlation between red blood cell distribution width(RDW),cystatin C(Cys-C),mean platelet volume(MPV),and pulmonary artery width(PAD)with the occurrence of pulmonary hypertension(PH),readmission, and mortality endpoints in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods A total of 100 COPD patients admitted to Henan Veterans Hospital from March 2020 to March 2022 as the research subjects were selected,43 patients with concomitant PH were included in the PH group, and 57 patients without concomitant PH were included in the COPD group. The levels of RDW,Cys-C,MPV,and PAD,and their correlation with readmission and mortality as endpoint events were compared between two groups of patients. Results The expression levels of RDW,Cys-C,MPV,and PAD in the PH group were higher than those in the COPD group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The expression levels of RDW,Cys-C,MPV and PAD in patients with poor prognosis were higher than those in patients with good prognosis, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The Kaplan-Meier survival curve analysis results showed that the overall one-year survival rate of RDW high expression patients was 54.2%,Cys-C high expression patients were 61.4%,MPV high expression patients were 52.6%,and PAD high expression patients were 54.2%,all lower than those of low expression patients(P<0.001).The Cox proportional hazards regression model showed that high expression of RDW,Cys-C,MPV,and PAD were independent risk factors affecting the prognosis and survival of patients in the PH group(P<0.05).Conclusion The expression levels of RDW,Cys-C,MPV,and PAD are closely related to whether COPD patients have concomitant PH,and can all be important factors in predicting whether COPD patients with concomitant PH will experience readmission and death as endpoint events.
