Mediating Effect of Dyadic Coping Between Disease Acceptance and Quality of Life in Patients with Breast Cancer

Abstract:Objective To explore the mediating effect of dyadic coping between acceptance of illness and quality of life in patients with breast cancer.Methods From May 2022 to May 2023,277 patients with breast cancer in a grade A tertiary hospital from Henan Province were selected by convenience sampling method.The general information questionnaire,dyadic coping inventory,acceptance of illness scale and functional assessment of cancer therapy-breast scale were used for investigation,AMOS 21.0 was used to construct the structural equation model and test the mediation effect.Results The total scores of acceptance of illness,dyadic coping and quality of life in breast cancer were(26.52±7.44),(113.97±15.91),(112.53±26.94)points.The study revealed significant associations between acceptance of illness,dyadic coping,and quality of life(P<0.01).Dyadic coping played a significant partial mediating effect in the relationship between acceptance of illness and quality of life,and the mediating effect accounting for 52.9%.Conclusion Healthcare professionals can develop dyadic coping interventions to improve the level of acceptance of illness and quality of life in breast cancer patients.
