Abstract:Objective To investigate the status and influencing factors of sedentary time in patients with lung cancer, and to provide directions for interventions aimed at reducing sedentary behavior in patients with advanced lung cancer. Methods From March 2023 to February 2024,patients with advanced lung cancer who met the inclusion criteria were selected by convenience sampling from the Department of Respiratory Medicine of a tertiary comprehensive hospital in Henan Province.A general information questionnaire, the international physical activity questionnaire short form,Karnofsky performance status(KPS),self-rating depression scale, and social support rating scale were used for the survey.Univariate analysis was performed on sedentary time among advanced lung cancer patients with different characteristics, and binary logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of sedentary behavior in these patients. Results A total of 187 questionnaires were distributed, and 169 valid questionnaires were collected. The average daily total sedentary time of advanced lung cancer patients was(7.8±2.9)h,and 92 patients had sedentary time ≥ 6 h per day, with a sedentary behavior incidence of 54.4%.There were statistically significant differences in sedentary behavior among patients with different ages, living arrangements, education levels, treatment status, metastasis status,KPS scores, and depression levels(P<0.05).Binary logistic regression analysis showed that age, treatment status,KPS score, and depression level were influencing factors for sedentary behavior in advanced lung cancer patients(P<0.05).Patients aged ≥ 60 years, those who had received three or more types of antitumor therapy, those with KPS scores<80,and those with moderate to severe depression had a higher incidence of sedentary behavior. Conclusion Sedentary behavior in advanced lung cancer patients should not be ignored, and its occurrence is associated with factors such as age, living arrangement, treatment status,KPS score, and depression level.Targeted interventions to reduce sedentary time may help improve sedentary behavior in these patients.
