Reliability and Validity Test of the Chinese Version of End-of-Life Care Questionnaire for Medical Staff

Abstract：Objective To translate the English version of the end-of-life care questionnaire(EOL-Q)for medical staff into Chinese,and to test its reliability and validity.Methods Following the principle of scale introduction,the scale was translated,retranslated,cross-culturally debugged and pre-tested.A convenience sample of 178 emergency department medical workers at 2 tertiary hospitals in Henan Province was investigated by the Chinese version of EOL-Q from March to April 2023.Results The Cronbach's α coefficient of Chinese EOL-Q scale was 0.949.The content validity index of the item level and the content validity index of the scale level were 0.790 and 0.947,respectively.Factor analysis showed 5 factors explaining 76.141％of the total variance.Conclusion The Chinese version of EOL-Q scale has good reliability and validity,and can be used to evaluate self-perceived competencies in end-of-life care for health care professionals in emergency department in China.
